How to get 

Every day, Ramechhap-Lukla flight (20 minutes) goes from 6:30 am to 2 pm on a clear day. Tara Air tickets cost 179 USD for foreigners, 5030 Rupees for Nepali. Drive from Kathmandu to Manthali Airport, Ramechhap takes 4 hours.

Trek Difficulty

Lukla at 2860 m elevation begins the journey, reached Sagarmatha Base Camp at 5364 m height and Kalapathar at 5545 m height in 8 days. A medium to strenuous journeys requires in downhills, uphills, zigzag, flat paths traversing suspension bridges, Dudh Kosi river valley, rugged hill, terraced fields, Sherpa village. Trekkers must be physically fit, mentally prepared with pre-training. 

The thin air trekking journey remains difficult beyond Dingboche (4410 m). Monjo and Namche (3 hours), Phungi Thyanga and Tengboche (2 hours), Dugla and Everest Base Camp (6 hours), Gorakshep and Kala Patthar (2:30 hours) hiking are strenuous. While returning from Phungi Thyanga to Sanasha (2 hours), Phakding to Lukla (3 hours) can be difficult. The rest of the trekking routes exist medium levels.

Lukla-EBC-Kalapathar-Lukla established 124.4 km (77.30 miles) distance. Lukla to EBC is 61 km (37.9 miles), which takes 8 days hiking, including 2 days acclimatization. 

Trekking Cost

Professional guide, porter, 3 times mountain meals, lodge accommodation, transportation, two flight tickets Kathmandu-Ramechhap, national park permit, Local tax costs 1650 US Dollar per person in a package. Food, drinks

Every 2 hours along Everest trekking route is available Dal Bhat, potatoes, chapati, eggs, pizza, soup, bread, pancake, chow mein, a noodle soup. They sell cane juice, Beer, Coke, Chocolate, cookies, mineral water. Sherpa foods are available, such as Thukpa-Noodle, Shyakpa-Sherpa Stew, Tsampa-roasted barley flour, boiled potato, Chhyang-local beer, Rakshi-local wine. Each breakfast, lunch, and dinner cost 6 to 15 US Dollar.

Lodges

Everest trekking route between Lukla and Gorekshep (1:40 hours to the base camp) established 2-bed room basic lodges with common bathroom (397), electricity. Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Lobuche is available few expensive lodges with attached bathroom. Most of the places connect cell phone with an internet signal. 

Everest Base Camp Facts 

Everest Base Camp located 5364 m/17598 ft (28° 0' 26° N 86° 51' 34° E) in Nepal and 5150 m/16896 ft (28° 8' 29° N 86° 51' 5° E) in Tibet (China). The South Base Camp lies 42 km northeast of Namche Bazaar. Khumbu Glacier (11.1 lengths), Khumbu Icefall (at 5486 m elevations), Mt. Lhotse (8516 m), Kala Patthar (5545 m), Mt. Pumori (7161 m), Mt. Changtse (7543 m), Mt. Lingtren (6749 m), Mt. Nuptse (7861 m) are surrounding. Gorakshep is the nearest teahouse camp in 1:40 hours walking distance. Approximate base camp is 200 meters of length and 100 meters of breadth. During the avalanche and earthquake time, the base camp remains hazardous. 

Mount Everest can't see from its base camp because of topography. Kala Patthar offers the best view of the base camp, which reached in 4 hours walking. The rugged cold place filled with ice, soil, concrete, stone, water, Khumbu Glacier, ice pool with pinnacle. Cold winds blow for all time and night will be colder. Temperatures can drop -20° to -30° Celsius in winter. Expedition groups set up camps every year in March/April. A sunny day melts even expedition camp, which requires to shift. An international high altitude adventure sport, Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon held (May 29th) at the base camp. Day 01: Lukla to Phakding (2652 m/8700 ft) - 8 km – 3/4 hours
Fly from Kathmandu (or Ramechhap) to Lukla in 30 minutes, enjoying aerial views of villages, forests, rivers with snowcapped mountains. Lukla Airport located on the sloping ground aside Lukla village in the lap of the mountain. Hike from Lukla to Choplung 40 minutes on a downhill path. Hike from Choplung to Phakding in 2:20 hours. The Sherpa town, Phakding lies at the bank of Dudh Koshi River with several teashops both sides of the Dudh Koshi river. The view of Kusum Kanguru (6367 m), Kongde (6187 m), and Dudh Koshi valley can observe while walking. Stay overnight in Phakding Village with a full board of meals. 

Day 02: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3441 m/11289 ft) - 11 km – 5/6 hours 
Today we accent 789 meters until Namche. Hike from Phakding to Benkar (2700 m) along Dudh Koshi Riverbank in one hour. Benkar to Monjo (2800 m) goes an uphill path with a couple of suspension bridges over the river in 40 minutes. Monjo to Jorsalle (2810 m) has an uphill trail that takes 35 minutes. Sagarmatha National Park checkpoint with guesthouses established there. Check your permits, hike continue 15 minutes to cross a bridge. Afterwards, lunch, take uphill walking to Namche Bazaar along the river valley with Hillary bridge, pine forest, and Everest's view in 2:40 hours. We enjoy the views of Thamserku, Everest, and Kongde. Namche Bazaar has several lodges with a bank, internet, tea shop, electricity, National park headquarters, army post, and a museum. The Sherpa town, Namche offers mountain views, including the highest Mount Everest view. 

Day 03: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar
Early morning, we hike 20 minutes uphill to the Park headquarters with Army Camp to enjoy the views of mountains, including Mount Everest on a clear day. We return to our lodge to have a hot breakfast. We hike again 1:30 hours uphill to the Sanghboche Airport (3720 m). We walk one hour on uphill and downhill paths to Khumjung Village (3790 m) with Hillary School and Yeti Skull Monastery. We climb 25 minutes to the Everest View Hotel (3880 m) with its superb views of Dudh Koshi valley, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Tabuchi, Thame Peak, Kongde (6187 m), Lhotse (8510 m), and Mount Everest (8848 m). We descend to Namche Bazaar on downhill paths in one hour. Stay overnight at Namche Bazaar with a full board of meals.

Day 04: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860 m/12663 ft) - 9.4 km – 5/6 hours 
After a hot breakfast at 7:00 am we hike from Namche Bazaar to Phungi Thanga (3250 m) in 2:45 hours on uphill and downhill paths. While hiking we enjoy the views of River Valley, Taboche (6543 m), Everest, Lhoste, Kantega (6782 m), and Ama Dablam. After lunch we continue uphill walk to Tengboche in 2 hours, crossing a bridge over Dudh Koshi River. Tengboche is a Sherpa town with five hotels, power, beautiful monastery, and the view of Mt. Everest. Stay overnight at Tengboche with a full board of meals. 

Day 05: Tengboche to Dingboche (4400 m/14435 ft) -15.3 km – 5/6 hours 
Wake up early morning to glimpse the Panoramic Himalaya with Mt. Everest. After breakfast, we hike from Tengboche to Pangboche (3900 m) with downhill and uphill paths in 1:30 hours. Pangboche is an alpine village with seven hotels offer the views of Mt. Amadablam (6856 m), Everest, Thamserku, Kantega, and Lhotse. A side trip to Amadablam base camp is useful if you are staying two nights. It takes 3:20 hours to reach with an uphill trail. Pangboche to Dingboche takes 2:40 hours with uphill paths. Dingboche is an alpine Sherpa village with several lodges at the lap of Mount Lhotse. The Sherpa village situated bank of the river with a bit warmer temperatures than Pheriche village (4250 m).

Day 06: Acclimatization day in Dingboche 
Make your rest day interesting with breakfast climbing high to Nangkar Tsang Hill (5150 m) with the views of Lhotse, Island Peak (6187 m), Peak 38 (7590 m), Baruntse (7130 m), Mt Makalu (8463 m), Ama Dablam, Kantega, Thamserku, Kongde (6187 m), Taboche, Cholatse (6442 m), Lobuche Peak, Banana Lake, and hidden valleys. A side trip from Dingboche to Chhukung (4730 m) can be possible, which takes 2:30 hours with an uphill path. Chhukung constructed two hotels at the base of viewpoint called Chukung Ri. Observe the views of Island Peak and Mt. Ama Dablam with surrounding valleys from there. 

Day 07: Dingboche to Lobuche (4930 m/16174 ft) - 7.7 km – 4/5 hours 
After breakfast, we hike from Dingboche to Dugla (4620 m) in 1:45 hours with an uphill trail. Dugla has a lodge for lunch and overnight stay. Dugla to Lobuche is an uphill trail that takes 1:35 hours. Lobuche situated at high altitude with six lodges. Enjoy awesome views of Lobuche peak (6169 m), Cholatse (6440 m), Taboche (6542 m), and the sunset view over Nuptse. 

Day 08: Lobuche to EBC (5364 m/17598 ft) - 9.6 km, EBC to Gorakshep (5180 m/16994 ft) - 4.6 km – 6/7 hours 
After breakfast hike from Lobuche to Gorakshep can be difficult with an altitude, uphill track, and thin air that takes 2:40 hours. Gorakshep is the highest and coldest village camp in Nepal with five lodges on the base of Kalapathar (5545 m). The views of Pumori, Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse are beautiful. Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp hiking can be difficult that takes 2:30 hours. Everest Base Camp is interesting with its ice pinnacles, Khumbu glacier, Khumbu icefall, and mountain view, however, Everest cannot view. Return from Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep that takes 1:40 hours.

Day 09: Gorakshep to Pheriche (4250 m/13943 ft) via Kala Patthar - 14.1 km – 7/8 hours 
Without breakfast in the morning hike of Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5545 m/18192 ft) (walking distance-1.2 km) in 2:15 hours. Enjoy the first light over Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Pumori. There views on Sagarmatha base camp, Khumbu Glaciers is magnificent. There will be extremely cold, bring enough warm clothes. Climb downhill to Gorakshep in 1:15 hours. Hiking from Gorakshep to Lobuche takes 1:30 hours on downhill paths. Lobuche to Pheriche takes 2:35 hours on a downhill path. 

Day 10: Pheriche to Kyangjuma (3550 m/11647 ft) - 19.3 km– 6/7 hours 
Hiking from Pheriche to Pangboche takes 1:50 hours on downhill paths. Pangboche to Tengboche takes 1:25 hours on the downhill and uphill path. Tengboche to Pungi Tanga takes 1:15 hours on a downhill path. Pungi Tanga to Kyangjuma takes 1:30 hours with its uphill tracks. 

Day 11: Kyangjuma to Banker (2700 m/8858 ft) - 12.4 km – 5/6 hours 
Walk flat and downhill paths to Namche in 1:20 hours. We descend through pine forest to Jorsalle in 2 hours. Check out our permit and continue to Mongo and Banker in 1 hour. 

Day 12: Banker to Lukla (2860m/9383 ft) - 11 km – 4/5 hours 
Today we hike from Banker to Phakding in 1 hour. Hike from Phakding to Lukla takes 2:45 hours. After Lukla, reconfirm the next day flight ticket to return Kathmandu or Ramechhap. Overnight stay in Lukla. 

Day 13: Lukla to Kathmandu (1337 m/4386 ft) – 30 minutes flight
Wake up early morning for an early breakfast if you have first flight schedule in the morning. Walk 10 minutes to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla. Fly back to Kathmandu (30 minutes) or Ramechhap (20 minutes) enjoying views of mountain, village and river valley. Take a taxi to Thamel in 25 minutes (Ramechhap to Kathmandu 4 hours driving).
